Rent a Camel in Rhode Island: Camel Rentals from Lavender Waves Farm

One of Lavender Waves Farm's camels greeting guests at an outdoor event

If you've been searching "rent a camel in Rhode Island," there's exactly one place to call — or rather, one farm to email. Lavender Waves Farm in Wakefield is home to three of Rhode Island's four privately held camels, and our camels travel to weddings, live nativities, festivals, corporate events, and parades across Rhode Island and southern New England.

Meet the camels

Every rental features our own camels — never stand-ins. Jack is our brown dromedary, Bingham is our white dromedary (the only Arabian camels in Rhode Island, and the pair everyone wants in their wedding photos), and Humphrey is our Bactrian camel, all six-plus feet of personality. The camels arrive with experienced handlers and stay safely tied up while your guests meet them, take photos, and ask us a hundred questions — which we love.

What kinds of events?

Camel rentals are the showpiece of an event. Our camels have starred at:

How camel rental works

Every event is quoted individually, based on the date, your location, how many camels, and how long you'd like them there. Rentals start at $1,900 for one camel; our most popular booking is two camels for two hours. Travel is included within 25 miles of the farm, and we regularly travel throughout New England for the right event. Each booking comes with our event terms in writing, and we include information about event cancellation insurance with every contract, so you're covered if plans change.

One thing to know: camel rentals are popular on peak dates — Christmas season and spring weekends book early, sometimes months ahead.

Camel rentals are quoted personally by the farm's owner — no booking agents, no call centers. Email us through the contact page with your date, location, and what you're planning, and you'll get a straight answer and an exact price.

Three camels. One farm. The most memorable guest at your next event.
